HOW  EFT  WORKS

The manifest problem, pain, dis-ease, addiction, anxiety, whatever, can be metaphorically referred to as a Table Top, supported by legs, the legs being the specific incidents that support the Table Top. There may be dozens, or hundreds, in some cases, thousands of incidents supporting certain Table Tops. By collapsing (resolving) one leg (specific incident) at a time, eventually, the whole Table will collapse and the sadness, embarrassment, guilt, fear or whatever will be completely resolved. We do not need to collapse ALL of the legs; sometimes one or two, sometimes 10 or more, and then there is a "domino effect" and they all collapse.

We start off with a general topic. Let's use anxiety as an example; The following is an example based on EFT;

First we take a SUDs reading (Subjective Unit of Discomfort, Distress or Dis-ease), a number from 0 to 10; 0 being, it doesn't affect me at all; no emotional charge. 10 being the highest emotional charge imaginable; in the case of anxiety, a full blown “Panic Attack”.

So, let's give it is a SUDs of 8. The general feeling of anxiety is an 8. We now probe to find out which specific incidents in my life constitute the Table Legs. We pick one; let's say “the time when I was 7 years old and my Mother screamed at me in front of my friends about how dumb I was and how I would never amount to anything.” We now give it a label or title, as if it were a movie: in this case, “The Scream”. And we get a specific SUDs reading for this incident; let's say it's a 10: so we tap on “The Scream” until we can play the movie and have no emotional charge on it at all; in other words, until our SUDs level is a 0.

Then we take another incident, another leg of the anxiety Table Top and tap on that until it also is a 0. And so on, until the Table Top collapses: We collapse individual legs until the Table Top collapses. The general feeling of anxiety is now resolved.
